Strategic Medical & Clinical Advisory
Bring physician judgment and strategic alignment to the clinical, evidence, regulatory, and commercial decisions that determine whether a healthcare innovation can succeed.

THE PROBLEM
Where healthcare innovations lose their footing
Healthcare companies rarely struggle because they lack smart people. They struggle when clinical development, regulatory strategy, evidence generation, medical affairs, and commercialization begin moving in different directions.
RNB Ventures helps leadership teams identify those disconnects early, challenge assumptions, and align the medical and business strategy before gaps become expensive, delay development, or undermine stakeholder confidence.

QUESTIONS
Frequently asked
When should a company bring in a strategic medical advisor?
Usually before a major decision becomes difficult or expensive to reverse. Common inflection points include clinical-development planning, regulatory submissions, fundraising, commercialization, indication expansion, evidence gaps, or when different functions are no longer aligned around the same strategy.
How is this different from hiring a regulatory or clinical consultant?
My role is broader. I look at the innovation through a physician-executive lens and ask whether the clinical, evidence, regulatory, adoption, and commercial strategies reinforce one another. A technically correct clinical or regulatory plan can still create problems if it does not support the broader business strategy.
Do you serve as a fractional Chief Medical Officer?
Yes. For selected companies, I provide ongoing fractional CMO or senior medical advisory support when experienced physician leadership is needed but a full-time CMO is not yet appropriate.
What types of companies do you typically advise?
My work is concentrated in medical devices, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, and other healthcare innovations, particularly companies facing complex clinical, regulatory, product-risk, evidence, or commercialization decisions.
Can you work with an existing clinical, regulatory, or medical affairs team?
Absolutely. The objective is usually not to replace the existing team. It is to bring an independent senior medical perspective that helps leadership challenge assumptions, connect functions, and make better strategic decisions.
